Mango Sticky Rice with Coconut Sauce
A creamy, sweet Thai-inspired dessert of coconut sticky rice topped with fresh ripe mango and a silky coconut sauce.

Ingredients
- 95 g glutinous (sticky) rice
- 120 ml coconut milk
- 1 ½ tbsp sugar
- ⅛ tsp salt
- 1 ripe mango
- 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
- 1 tsp cornstarch (optional, for thicker sauce)
Steps
- Soak the sticky rice in water for at least 2 hours or overnight, then drain.
- Steam the rice for about 20-25 minutes until tender and translucent.
- While rice steams, heat coconut milk, sugar, and salt in a small saucepan until sugar dissolves, whisking in cornstarch slurry if a thicker sauce is desired.
- Pour half of the warm coconut sauce over the cooked sticky rice and let it absorb for 10 minutes.
- Slice the ripe mango into thin strips.
- Plate the coconut sticky rice with mango slices on the side.
- Drizzle remaining coconut sauce over the top and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds before serving.
