Petal Samosa
Delicate flower-shaped samosas with a crispy golden shell and spiced potato filling, perfect for tea-time snacking.

Ingredients
- 60 g all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp oil (for dough)
- 2 tbsp water (as needed)
- 75 g boiled and mashed potato
- 1 tbsp green peas
- ¼ tsp cumin seeds
- ¼ tsp garam masala
- ¼ tsp red chili powder
- ⅛ tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp chopped coriander leaves
- Salt to taste
- 240 ml oil (for deep frying)
Steps
- Knead the flour with oil, salt and water into a stiff dough; rest 15 minutes.
- Sauté the cumin seeds in a little hot oil until they crackle.
- Add the peas, mashed potato and spices and cook 2-3 minutes into a dry filling; let it cool.
- Roll the dough out thin and cut it into petal-shaped strips.
- Wrap the petals around a small ball of filling to form a flower, sealing the edges with water.
- Deep fry over medium heat 4-5 minutes until golden and crisp.
- Drain on paper towels and serve warm with chutney.
