Thai Steamed Fish with Lime & Garlic
Delicate white fish steamed with a punchy garlic, lime, and chili sauce for a light and zesty Thai-style dish.

Ingredients
- 1 fillet white fish (about 180g, such as tilapia or sea bass)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 red chili, sliced
- 2 tbsp fresh lime juice
- 1 tbsp fish sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
- 2 tbsp chicken or vegetable stock
- 2 tbsp fresh cilantro, chopped
- 2 stalks green onion, sliced
- 1 tsp vegetable oil
Steps
- Pat the fish fillet dry and place it on a heatproof plate.
- In a small bowl, mix minced garlic, sliced chili, lime juice, fish sauce, sugar, and stock to make the sauce.
- Pour the sauce evenly over the fish fillet.
- Set up a steamer with boiling water and steam the fish on the plate for 8-10 minutes until just cooked through.
- Remove from the steamer and drizzle with a little vegetable oil.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and green onion before serving.
