Sweet and Spicy Glazed Tempeh
Seared tempeh bites tossed in a sticky glaze of kecap manis, tamarind, chili sauce and fresh ginger that hits sweet, salty, spicy and sour at once.

Ingredients
- 150 g tempeh, diced into bite-size pieces
- ¾ tbsp tamarind paste
- ¾ tbsp chili sauce
- 1 ½ tbsp sweet soy sauce (kecap manis)
- ½ tbsp grated ginger
- 1 pinch salt
Steps
- Brown the tempeh in a pan over medium-high heat, then remove and set aside.
- Combine the tamarind paste, chili sauce, kecap manis, ginger and salt in a small bowl.
- Lower the heat and warm the sauce in the same pan for about a minute until bubbling.
- Return the tempeh to the pan and toss until thoroughly coated in the glaze.
